Our first stop is the Geylang Serai area, at the centre of the Malay Muslim community in Singapore and specifically, our focus is on Joo Chiat Complex. Joo Chiat Complex is located just across the street from Geylang Serai Market and about 15 minutes walk from either Paya Lebar or Eunos MRT stations. It has numerous shops selling Muslim fashion like the latest abaya designs, jubah and latest hijab style. We will be highlighting two such shops which are quite well-known to both local and foreign shoppers.

The first shop is Bewa Fashion which started out as a tailoring shop way back in 1993. From its humble beginnings as a one person show in 1993, it has since flourished into a fashion boutique with two shop spaces. Bewa Fashion specializes in great quality ready made jubah, baju kurong and maxi dresses.

The next Muslim fashion shop on our list is Adelea which is located on the third floor of Joo Chiat Complex. It is one-stop shopping hub for all your Muslim clothing, weddings, apparels and accessories needs. In addition to offering the usual Muslim clothing like hijab, jubah and baju kurong, Adelea also offers additional services such as embroidery, customized veils, scarves and ‘songkok’, patchwork and iron on hotfix crystals.

Golden Landmark Shopping Centre
The second area that is packed with clothing and fashion is the Kampong Glam area located about 10 minutes walk from Bugis and Nicoll Highway MRT stations. One of the top fashion hub here is Golden Landmark Shopping centre. It has numerous shops selling everything from attar/oudh, prayer mats, spas, travel agencies, to of course fashion. Aldo is a trendy fashion footwear and accessories brand which sell products at affordable prices.
